Zojoji Temple

     Zojoji temple which is known as one of the representative temples of Tokyo, is a major temple of the Jodoshu (Pure Land Sect) of Buddhism . It is just a 7 minutes walk from Tokyo Tower. You can see Tokyo Tower right behind the temple like the photo above. 

(Main Gate called Sangedatsumon. "mon" means gate in Japanese.)
 
Although it is located right in the center of Tokyo, once you go through the huge main gate, the calm atmosphere will make you forget the bustle of the big city and help you relax.
 
 
 
      To the right of the Main Hall, you will see a bunch of Jizo, small human shaped stone statues, lined up. These Jizo are enshrined to bring about peaceful growth and good health in children.
